I-90 on Snoqualmie Pass back open after spin-outs, avalanche control forced closure for 6 hours

SNOQUALMIE PASS – The eastbound lanes of I-90 were closed on Snoqualmie Pass for much of Monday afternoon, and the westbound lanes were closed later in the day as well. But both directions were reopened by evening.

The eastbound lanes were originally closed at around 12:45 p.m. as crews worked to clear several spin-outs. The westbound lanes were added later after the Washington State Department of Transportation decided to do some avalanche control.

Both directions were reopened at about 6:45 p.m.

The closure was in effect beginning at milepost 34 near North Bend in the eastbound lanes, and at milepost 70 near Easton in the westbound lanes.
