Hiker missing for 3 days found safe in Capitol State Forest

UPDATE: The missing hiker was found Tuesday afternoon, deputies said.

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. -- The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search for a man who they believe went hiking in the Mima Falls area on Saturday.

Brian Wallace, 52, didn’t show up for work Monday, and now the search is under way around the Capitol State Forest in Olympia.

Wallace is a type 2 diabetic, but his family says he is an experienced outdoorsman, who knows the area well.

His daughter says she last saw him on Friday and said he left for his hike on Saturday with a bike.

Anyone who spots Wallace is asked to call the Thurston County Sheriff’s office.
