Flames, smoke near Highway 104 is from a prescribed burn, according to DNR



JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wash. -- Dense smoke and flames near Highway 104 in Jefferson County Sunday worried many drivers, but we're told the fire was planned.

The Department of Natural Resources planned the burned earlier in the day between Center Road and Peterson Lane, according to the Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management.

The agency says no structures are threatened and no roads are closed at this time.

The burn may last several hours.
