Extensive vandalism forces Douglas County high school to close

BRIDGEPORT, Wash. (AP) — Bridgeport High School is closed for a second straight day Tuesday while crews clean up damage left by vandals who ransacked the school over the weekend.

Superintendent Scott Sattler says lockers and desks were emptied, interior windows smashed and multiple items stolen.

KXLY reports (http://bit.ly/138PjAA) damage could reach $50,000.

The Douglas County sheriff's office says the intruders spent a lot of time in the building and did far more damage than necessary if they were just interested in taking things.
