Edmonds girl fighting Leukemia surprised with puppy at Valentine's Day birthday party fit for a princess

SEATTLE - She’s the Edmonds girl fighting cancer who stole our hearts and on this Valentine’s Day, Zaraiyah Broddy’s loved ones surprised her with a birthday party fit for a princess.  ‘Z’ as everyone calls her just turned 8-years-old.   She’s spent the last two years battling Leukemia and was just released from Children's Hospital.

‘Z’ loves Disney princesses so Elsa and Cinderella were both at the party held at 415 Westlake Ave N in South Lake Union but the happiest surprise was when her mom gave her a puppy!  “She’s always wanted a puppy and when Sheara said she’s going to get one, I said I wonder if she’ll name her Violet and she named her Violet so that’s pretty awesome. Violet is Zaraiyah’s protector,” said Zeneta Reid who organized the party. Reid visited them in California while ‘Z’  was undergoing an experimental treatment.  ‘Z’ returned home after it wasn’t as successful as they’d hoped. “We’re just spending every day with her that we can now. There’s nothing left that they can do so we just want to make every day as special as possible,” said Reid.

So many people have heard about the little girl with the huge smile. Her aunt, Ali England, says when she tried to pay for the beautiful dress for ‘Z’ to wear at her birthday party, Alfred Angelo Bridal in Tukwila wouldn’t let her. Zariayah’s family and friends are grateful to everyone who continues to #PrayFightWin for her. You can donate to help them at this link.
