EB I-90 closed for hours near North Bend after tanker truck crash, gas spill

NORTH BEND, Wash. -- The Washington State Department of Transportation closed I-90  eastbound at milepost 34 near North Bend due to a collision Friday morning involving a tanker truck at milepost 80, near Bullfrog east of Snoqualmie Pass.

The tank ruptured and was spilling gasoline on the roadway around 2 a.m. Friday.  The spillage will need to be contained before the roadway is open to traffic.

A response team arrived to drill the tank several hours later.

The state patrol said the truck was cleared and the freeway reopened around 11 a.m.
