Easter bunny spotted, pulled over for not wearing helmet

LA MESA, Calif. -- Who says there’s no such thing as the Easter Bunny? Not the California Highway Patrol…

In fact, a CHP officer saw the Easter Bunny Sunday in the San Diego area, riding a shiny red motorcycle, heading west on the 8 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Of course, it was just a person wearing an Easter Bunny costume, complete with a big white mask with floppy ears. Only problem? The mask didn’t include a helmet — and riding a motorcycle without one is a big no-no in California.

The officer — Adam Griffiths, the Times reports — pulled the “bunny” over. The costume-clad motorcyclist told the officer he was on his way to an Easter charitable event, hence the costume.

Griffiths threw the “bunny” a break, letting him off with a warning — next time, trade the mask for a helmet.
