Drive-by injures 1, police search for suspects

TACOMA—

A man driving in Tacoma was taken to the hospital after a bullet hit him in his side late Saturday night in an apparent road-rage incident.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but Tacoma police are trying to figure out why the victim and his girlfriend were apparent tarets.

According to police, the man was driving in the 2000 block of East 41st Street at 11:30 p.m. when he noticed an unknown vehicle driving close behind him. The suspect's vehicle pulled up alongside the driver's side of the victim's car and fired several shots. The man was struck in the side and the suspect drove off.

Police were called to the scene and the victim's vehicle was impounded for investigation. A single projectile was recovered.

The victim was not able to provide a detailed description of the suspect's vehicle. No arrests have been made in the case.
