Despite recent rain, Seattle, Tacoma, Everett residents asked to use less water

SEATTLE (AP) — Officials in the cities of Seattle, Tacoma and Everett are asking people to continue using less water despite recent rains.

Officials in the three cities said in a news release Wednesday recent rainfall helped but was not enough to return water supplies to normal levels for people and fish.

People in the region have cut water use by 14 percent in the past four weeks.

Tips to reduce water use include taking shorter showers, fixing any leaks, doing only essential pressure washing and purchasing water-efficient equipment.
