Cyclist critically injured in hit-and-run; police search for suspect

MILL CREEK -- Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver that critically injured a 53-year-old cyclist Wednesday morning in Mill Creek.

Around 1:30 a.m., the driver struck the cyclist on 35th Avenue SE, Mill Creek police said. Officers were called to the crash, and the cyclist was transported to Providence Medical Center where he is currently listed in critical condition.

Witnesses at the scene described seeing a silver SUV with damage leave the scene right after the crash occurred.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit and the Mill Creek PD are investigating the scene. The intersection at 35th Ave SE and Silver Crest Dr was closed during the investigation and motorists are advised to use alternate routes around the area.
