Cold weather shelters open across the region

SEATTLE --  Cold weather shelters will open Sunday evening in anticipation of cold and snowy weather that's expected to hit the Puget Sound area.

The Seattle Human Services Department will open the emergency co-ed adult shelter at the Seattle Center Pavilion (305 Harrison St.) from Sunday, December 4th through Thursday, December 8th.

This shelter will be open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and has room for 100 people.

King County is also expanding capacity for 50 additional men at the King County Administration Building shelter (500 4th Avenue) on Sunday, December 4th through Tuesday, December 6th. Both shelters are operated by the Salvation Army.

Snohomish County

The South Snohomish County Emergency Shelter Network has been activated for Sunday, December 4 - Tuesday, December 6.

The shelter network is open to families, women, and men. Evening and morning meals will be provided.

For those who are in need of overnight sheltering, please meet at Lynnwood City Hall – 19100 44th Ave W, Lynnwood no later than 7 p.m. Individuals will be shuttled to a local shelter.

A second meeting location is located at the bus stop near Trader Joe's parking lot on Hwy 99 and 196th St SW, individuals should be here no later than 7:05 p.m.

Kitsap County

Three shelters will be open Sunday, December 4, and Monday, December 5, in Kitsap County.

Hours of operation for the Salvation Army and Silverdale United Methodist Shelters will be from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. The Village Greens Community Center will be open from 6:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. Guests will not be able to check into the shelter after 10 p.m.
