Calender benefits canine cancer patients

OLYMPIA -- The local organization Paws Against Cancer is helping to raise awareness about canine cancer and provides financial assistance to families that have pets fighting cancer.

To help fund their efforts, the organization is selling 2013 Paws Against Cancer calendars. The calendars include 12 months of local pets that have received treatment and feature inspirational quotes. The calendars sell for $20 and are tax-deductible.

According to Paws Against Cancer, cancer is considered the most common cause of death in domesticated pets. More than 63 percent of households in the US have pets,  so a large number of families experience dealing with a pet that has cancer.

You can order a 2013 Paws Against Cancer fundraiser calendar online or find local businesses that carries them at olydog.com.
