Bremerton man gets 27 years for producing child pornography

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Officials say a Bremerton man with pornographic images of over 40 children has been sentenced to 27 years in prison.

The U.S. Justice Department said Larry Gutierrez was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in March to producing child pornography.

Court documents say the mother of a 9-year-old girl in Spokane found child pornography on her daughter's phone in 2014, including photos of the girl. The child told police she met someone on the Kik messaging app and sent him photos at his request.

Search warrants showed Gutierrez told the girl if she did not send more images, he would post her pictures and Kik Messenger name for other adult men.

Police say Gutierrez distributed some of the photos.

At sentencing Gutierrez told the court he would like to apologize to the victims and their families.
