Amazon hiring for 1,200 new full-time jobs at Kent fullfillment center

KENT – The robots can’t do it all themselves.

Amazon announced on Monday that it’s creating 1,200 new full-time jobs at its new fulfillment center in Kent, which will become the company’s third robotics fulfillment center in Western Washington.

The company said workers at the center will work alongside robots to ship out smaller orders like books and toys.

The World Economic Forum recently estimated that more than 5 million jobs will be lost by 2020 due to new developments in robotics, artificial intelligence and genetics.
