SEATTLE -- Police seized 68 handguns and rifles and a cache of body armor and ammunition from a Bellevue home during the course of a Seattle burglary investigation, the Seattle Police Department said Tuesday.
On Dec. 31, numerous firearms and suppressors were stolen from a commercial property in the 5000 block of Colorado Avenue South in Seattle. The suspect was believed to be a white man driving a late 1990s Toyota 4-Runner, police said.
On Jan. 8, there was another burglary at the same location. Police arrived and arrested the suspect -- a white man driving an older model Toyota 4-Runner. Police sought a search warrant for the suspect's residence in Bellevue.
On Monday, the search warrant was served, and detectives "found items from the original burglary, including all of the stolen firearms and suppressors, custom tactical gear, custom knives ... armor vests, ballistic shields," the police said in a news release.
The 38-year-old suspect remains in custody in the King County Jail for investigation of burglary and the theft.
