65-year-old woman struck by bullet, possibly from nearby gun range

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The Clark County sheriff's office says it has been unable to confirm whether or not a bullet that hit a woman in the head outside her Brush Prairie home came from the nearby Clark Rifles gun range.

The bullet passed through her scalp Jan. 26, and 65-year-old Linda Sperling is still suffering the effects of a concussion.

The gun range cooperated with the investigation.

The Columbian reports that as a result of the case the sheriff's office is inspecting the firing range for the first time in nearly two decades.
