22-year-old Portland man who collapsed at Paradiso concert dies

GEORGE, Wash. -- A 22-year-old Portland man who collapsed at the Paradiso Music Festival at the Gorge Amphitheatre died Sunday at a Wenatchee hospital, authorities said Monday.

The deceased was identified by the Chelan County coroner as Beau B. Brooks.

"Early indication suggests this death may be drug or heat related," the Grant County Sheriff's Office said.

A Grant County major crimes detective was assigned to investigate.

“I want the victim’s family to know how sorry I am for their loss, and to know that I have committed a major crimes detective to investigate and find out what happened,” said Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.

Some 27,500 people attended the sold-out dance music event. The sheriff's office said 10 people were arrested during the festival, less than half as many as last year.
