14-year-old snowboarder killed at Eastern Washington resort

BURBANK, Wash. -- A 14-year-old snowboarder died following an accident Saturday at Eastern Washington's Ski Bluewood resort, the Tri-City Herald reported.

According to the Herald, Hunter Connor was found injured at the top of Country Road run sometime after noon Saturday. Connor was conscious when ski patrol found him at the top of the beginner run, and was able to communicate with aids.

He was taken to the ski resort's medical center, but a Life Flight helicopter was unable to be called because of weather conditions, the Herald reported. Connor was transported to Columbia County Hospital via emergency vehicle where he later died. His cause of death was not immediately known.

Connor was reportedly on a family ski outing, the Herald said.
