10-acre brush fire triggers evacuations near Wenatchee

WENATCHEE -- A brush fire caused level 1 and 2 evacuations for some residents Sunday evening near Wenatchee.

The brush fire sparked around 4 p.m. and moved quickly through grasslands, Chelan County Emergency Management officials said, growing to 10 acres.

The Horselake Fire spurred evacuations on Horselake Road, Broadview Heights and Sleepy Hollow Heights, officials said.

Three helicopters, eight fire engines and a crew helped put out the blaze. Firefighters planned to continue to monitor the area through the night.
