1 injured in head-on crash Sunday on Seattle's Aurora Bridge

SEATTLE -- Seattle police say one person was injured in a head-on collision early Sunday morning on the Aurora Bridge.

Investigators said a car driving northbound on the bridge around 6:30 a.m. crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle traveling southbound.

Medics transported the driver of the southbound car to Harborview Medical Center for minor injuries.

The bridge was closed for about 45 minutes while the vehicles were towed.

Police said they were still investigating the cause. No further information was released.

The Aurora Bridge was the site of tragedy on Thursday when a "Ride the Ducks" vehicle collided with a charter bus, killing four international students. Dozens of people were injured in the crash which is being investigated by the NTSB.

State lawmakers are now asking transportation officials how to improve safety on Seattle's Aurora Bridge.
