1 dead, 1 wounded in Tukwila shooting; suspect on the loose

TUKWILA, Wash. -- Authorities say one man has died and another man has been wounded in a shooting outside of an apartment complex just south of Seattle. During the investigation, a car went careening through the crime scene narrowing missing bystanders.

Police in Tukwila say the victims, ages 18 and 24, had both been shot as they sat in a vehicle in the parking lot.

The younger man died at the scene. The other victim was taken to a hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot, and no arrests have been made.

Police spokesman Mike Murphy says investigators believe the suspect and victims knew each other.

While officers investigated the shooting, a Chevy Camaro went speeding through the crime scene. Police, bystanders and even our Q13 News crew had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. At least one police car was scratched as the Camaro pushed its way between two vehicles.

The Camaro crashed about ten blocks away from the scene and the driver escaped on foot.
