SEATTLE -
They call them safety ropes for a reason.
The Seattle Fire Department said a safety rope helped save the life of a window washer who fell eight stories from the Nordstrom Rack building in downtown Seattle on Thursday.
Witnesses on the scene told Q13 FOX News the worker was near the top story when he fell. He hit and broke a 7th story window before falling several more stories.
Spokeswoman Dana Vander Houwen said the rope caught at the second story - just before the worker hit the ground.
She said the 34-year-old man was conscious and talking to medics. Vander Houwen said he was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
