Petition: Give Phoenix Jones his stuff back

An online petition seeks to help masked Seattle crime fighter Phoenix Jones get back some of his “gear” that was confiscated by the Seattle Police Department (SPD).

Ben Fodor, 23, aka Phoenix Jones, was arrested following a street fight on Oct. 9. Jones argued that he was trying to break up a fight when some of the assailants turned on him.

In November, Seattle prosecutors said Jones would not be charged in the incident but a new petition claims some of his crime fighting gear was never returned.

"Phoenix Jones was arrested for breaking up a disturbance in the streets of Seattle in October at which point the Seattle Police Department confiscated his gear," the petition's description said. "All charges regarding the incident have been dropped, but the SPD still holds some of his gear hostage."

The petition does not specify what gear was confiscated, but the night Jones was arrested he was wearing his signature black-and-yellow suit and mask. He was also carrying large cans of pepper spray.

The petition currently has 393 signatures and hopes to obtain 1,000.

The SPD has not commented on the petition.
