A Wet Thanksgiving On Tap For Western Washington: Flood Watch Underway For 11 Counties
SEATTLE - It's going to be a wet Thanksgiving across Western Washington. Flood watches are in effect for 11 counties and there's also lots of big puddles and standing water on the roadways.

According to the National Weather Service the Skokomish River could see minor flooding in the next 48 hours. The Satsop, Concrete and Grand Mound will near flood stage in the next 48 hours.

These counties are all under a flood watch today:

Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, King, Lewis, Mason, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston and Whatcom.

Here's some helpful reminders to stay safe during or after a flood:

Don't drive or walk into flooded areas and avoid contact with floodwater.

Safely turn off electricity to flooded area.

Stop using plumbing that drains to the sewer system.

If you have been exposed to floodwater or wastewater, change clothing and shoes and wash affected skin.

Evacuate damaged buildings.

Help neighbors, especially the elderly or disabled.

Monitor the radio for instructions or notifications of shelters and medical aid stations.
