KENNEWICK -
Book shoppers in the Tri-Cities are gobbling up Sarah Palin's latest offering -- and hoping to get a glimpse of the author herself as she spends her holiday there with her family.
In town for Thanksgiving with her grandparents and the rest of her family, the former vice-presidential candidate got up bright and early for the Kennewick "Turkey Trot" -- a fundraiser for the local Red Cross.
As you can imagine, it was madness the moment Palin showed up.
Runners and walkers clamored around her as she pushed a double stroller with her son and grandson.
Her daughter Bristol was there too - but no sign of "Levi", the father of Bristol's new son.
Palin has strong ties to Washington state. Her grandparents moved to Richland in the 1940's and she spent many summers and holidays in the Tri-Cities.
Palin plans to stay through the weekend, and on Sunday launches the second half of her book tour in Richland.
