High Winds Down Trees In Seattle
Seattle - The windy weather is taking its toll on the Seattle metro area. Trees are down, knocking out power across the city.

A family in Shoreline in the 19000 block of 21st Ave. NW says a tree was uprooted in the front yard around 5:30 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

"I was sitting in my room and I heard a big crash. Then another big gust of wind and a louder crash and my computer went out and all the power was gone," says Dylan O'Leary.

The family says a power crew came out to assess the situation, and said they would be back later to take the tree down.

A few miles away in Shoreline, a huge tree fell on top of a car near Ballinger Park, taking down a power line in the process. We are told the driver was 82 years-old and was not hurt. The tree came smashing down on the hood of the car near the windshield. Power in that neighborhood was wiped out.

In Ballard, crews had to take down a tree that had split from the wind before it fell into the road.
