For most of us, the thought of rappelling down Seattle's 500-foot Rainier Tower sounds crazy. But that is exactly what dozens of people will be doing this week as part of a fundraiser for the Special Olympics.

Q13 FOX News anchor Bill Wixey is joining them. And since he's never done anything like this before, he got a little training from the experts.

Bill hooked up with mountaineering legend Mike Hattrup to scale the side of the K2 Headquarters Building in Seattle's SODO District. It's three stories tall - baby steps.

Hattrup tried to calm Wixey's nerves: "He's got some shrubbery down below to break his fall."

Wixey said Hattrup made it look so easy, he didn't feel nervous at all - until he got to the edge of the building. That's where he started to get nervous.

But that's part of the point of the Special Olympics' Over The Edge rappel.

"You figure, if you're an athlete - a Special Olympics athlete - you may not have competed in sports," said Beth Wojick, CEO of Special Olympics Washington. "It's a challenge for these athletes, so it's a challenge of 'you can do it.' Everybody can do something."

Bill says he is all set to rappel down the Rainier Tower this Friday.
