More Jobs Cuts For Boeing Workers
There will be more job cuts at Boeing. The head of Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems says Pentagon cutbacks are forcing the company to layoff 1,000 employees in the Defense Division.

There are 7,000 Defense Division workers in the Puget Sound region. Boeing hasn't said how many local jobs will be affected or when the layoffs will take place.

In an internal memo Monday, Boeing's Jim Albaugh says the job reductions are needed to keep the company competitive.

In January, CEO Jim McNerney said the company would cut 10,000 jobs companywide this year through attrition and layoffs. Boeing spokesman Dan Beck wouldn't say Tuesday whether the 1,000 cuts are part of the 10,000.
