BELLEVUE -
A 62-year-old man is dead after being shot by police in Bellevue late Tuesday.
Police say the officer had responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at about 11 p.m. Tuesday. The caller reported that a man was screaming threats and attempting to enter an apartment.
Witnesses told police the 62-year-old man came at the officer with a knife before he was shot. He died at the scene, in the 12200 block of Northeast 8th St.
No officers were injured.
Police had closed NE 8th from 120th Avenue NE to 124th Avenue NE while they conducted their investigation.
