Washington's first heat wave of the summer is setting high temperature records in Seattle and on the coast. Thursday is expected to be the hottest day in 343 days.

We set a record Wednesday with a temperature of 89 at 4pm. The old record was 88.

To set a record on Thursday, we have to beat 87 degrees.

Friday, we'll come close to a record. The hottest temperature on record is 91.

Technically this is not a heat wave. By definition, aheat wave is 3 consecutive days of 15 degrees above normal. We will be very close to that but not quite.

A great weekend is expected ahead, with highs near 83. Not as hot but more reasonable. ENJOY.
