Fatal Fall in Snohomish County, Seach and Rescue Teams Recover Body of Duvall Woman
SNOHOMISH COUNTY - Search and Rescue Crews in Snohomish County have recovered the body of a climber who died in a fall.

The body of a 39 year old Duvall woman was recovered in the Monte Cristo area in Snohomish County.

A local ranger called 911 after the victim's climbing partner returned and told them about the accident. They were climbing in a snow field when the woman lost her footing and fell about 700 feet over a cliff.

The man climbed down to where she fell and discovered her body. He made it back down to the Monte Cristo town site for help late Sunday afternoon.

It happened off the Mountain Loop Highway in the the Monte Cristo area south of Darrington in the Cascade Range.

The Sheriff's Office helicopter was used to hoist rescue workers down to her body so they could bring her out in the helicopter.

So far, we don't have any information on the victim's identity.
