FREMONT - Thousands of zombies descended on the Seattle neighborhood of Fremont Friday night. They came, they danced, they watched zombie movies, and they learned more about their folklore.

It's all part of the Fremont Outdoor Film Series, which was showing a zombie movie Friday night, "Shaun of the Dead."

Zombie Weekend celebrates all things zombie. For those who may not know, a zombie is thought to be a mythical creature that appears in folklore and popular culture typically as a reanimated corpse or a mindless human being.

Organizers hoped to break a Guiness World Record for the number of people in its Zombie Walk, and maybe break another one for the biggest crowd to dance to Jackson's "Thriller."
