SHELTON -
Highway 101 in Shelton reopened Thursday morning after crews battled a heavy house fire.
The Mason County Sheriff's Department says the fire was sparked at a home on the Skykomish Indian Reservation. It has since been extinguished.
One woman was airlifted to a local hospital with burns. We do not know the extent of her injuries at this time.
Crews had to close U.S. 101 north of Shelton and just south of Highway 106 because of smoke blowing onto the freeway from the fire. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
