There's no way to "sugar coat" what happened to a driver who made a sticky mess on Highway 99 in Des Moines.

The driver of a tanker truck loaded with doughnut glaze lost control and rolled over on Pacific Highway South, oozing sugary syrup into a nearby culvert, Monday.

A Washington State Patrol spokeswoman said the truck overturned along southbound Pacific Highway South at South Kent Des Moines Road just after four p.m.

The accident left the driver only slightly hurt -- he declined medical treatment.

The State Department of Transportation was called to help clean up the leaking doughnut glaze.
