Kurt Husted, Guard Shot In Walmart Shooting |
SEATTLE—
Deborah Bishop's life changed forever when two armed men walked into the Lakewood Walmart store in early June and murdered her fiance. Her fiance, Kurt Husted, was working as a Loomis security guard. He was a holding a bag of money when he was shot and killed. Husted was 38 years old.
The horrifying moment is something Bishop will never forget and wonders why it happened to her fiance. She writes in a letter, "One can make no sense of it aside from the fact that Kurt was in the wrong place at the wrong time..."
Bishop's letter was sent to the media Thursday. In her letter, she claims that the Justice system failed Husted. "They released a man on parole, early, who should still be locked up for past arrests and convictions..."
She continues on in the letter saying, "As long as Kurt is remembered, and his name continues to be spoken, he is still here with us."
Bishop not only wants Kurt to be remembered but also urges people to "help make changes necessary to keep us safe."
