NEWCASTLE -
The city of Newcastle is hoping the third time is a charm!
City officials have twice petitioned the Postal Service to give newcastle its own zip code and failed.
Now the city is ready to make the same request.
This time even launching a citizen survey to backup reasons why it needs its own digits.
Communications Manager Doug Alder says the city is losing thousands of dollars in online sales tax revenue to Renton.
Even though Newcastle has been incorporated as its own city since 1994.
The city hopes to get a response from the Postal Service by late summer or early fall.
