The University of Washington Husky Football coach was there to catch the first Copper River salmon of the season.
Coach Steve Sarkisian was among those at Sea-Tac airport Friday morning to welcome the first arrival of Copper River Salmon.
About 20,000 pounds of the salmon arrived on a special Alaska Airlines 737 cargo freighter, around 7:30 a.m.
The airline and seafood companies recruited Sarkisian to make the ceremonial first catch of a fish from the flight when it arrived from Cordova, Alaska.
He gave the pilot a football in exchange.
Consumers should see the fish soon in restaurants and grocery stores.
Copper River salmon carries a premium price because of its reputation for flavor.
