SEATTLE -
It's been 40 years since Jimi Hendrix's death but his music lives on. Even in death, the Seattle-born guitarist has released a new album featuring never-before-heard music.
The CD is called "Valleys Of Neptune". There are twelve tracks of never before heard music.
It is on sale for only $10.99 at Easystreet records.
Easy Street owner, Matt Vaughn says The album is a must have for any Jimi Hendrix fan, especially those in Seattle.
Vaughn says, "The biggest reason why Seattle has such a vibrant music scene is because of Jimi Hendrix. Lets get right down to brass tax. That's what it's all about it."
Most of the music was recorded in 1969 during a four-month-period in New York and London. This was after the 1968 release of his "Electric Ladyland" album, and before the 1970 opening of his Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village.
Hendrix died at the age of 27 in London on September 1970. Since then, a California attorney managed his estate for 20 eyars before Hendrix's late father won the rights to his music in 1995.
Last year, Experience Hendrix announced a licensing deal with Sony Music for his master recordings.
Under the new deal, Sony's Legacy Recordings also will reissue deluxe editions in March of the core catalog - "Are You Experienced," "Axis: Bold As Love," "Electric Ladyland," and "First Rays of the New Rising Sun."
