The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says one of our top fugitives isn't just a danger to women, but to officers as well.

Christopher Michael Lawrence is wanted for strangling his wife and mother of his three kids last year.

Detectives say she was gasping for air, and thought she was going to die.

Detectives also say his wife told them they had been arguing, and Lawrence sent her a text message saying she would "regret leaving him" and that he would "kill her."

"Anytime with domestic violence, if they are willing to choke someone out like this," says Sergeant Mike Blair with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, "we need to get them into custody so we can get some intervention started."

A check of the records shows three misdemeanor warrants for his arrest for domestic violence related offenses, worth over $30,000.

Police say Lawrence also has several mental health issues including Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADD, and ADHD.

"He is suicidal," says Sgt. Blair, "and we want to pick up suicidal people because they can be real dangerous for us.

23-year-old Christopher Lawrence is five-feet-nine-inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds, and has dark blonde hair and blue eyes.
