SEATTLE—
Rare look at one of the best teams of fugitive hunters in Washington - Seattle's North Precinct Anti-Crime, or "ACT" team.SeattlePI.com's 911 blog reporter Casey McNerthney and photographer Josh Trujillo got a first-hand look at them in action.
Casey talks about going on the hunt with the ACT Team. "We spent three nights with them. They go out, started about 8pm, went until about 3 in the morning. They're the guys who hunt wanted criminals, a number of dangerous fugitives. We were lucky to get this access to see what they're day to day activity is like."
Sgt. Eric Chartrand talked about his teams dangerous task. "Our team does many things that are dangerous. Our team does take downs of criminals, and each guy has to know that the other person is going to address a threat if it comes to that and so there is a large amount of trust. We are in a lot of people's space; we want a lot of people to know we are out there. And we want people to know that it's not going to be tolerated in North Seattle."
