SEATTLE—
I've lived in Seattle for 9 years and I've never been to some of food places right under my nose because I didn't know about them. That's where Savor Seattle Food Tours comes in. It's where "foodies" unite to discover the city's hidden talent. With tour guide Angela Shen, you're discovering Pike Place Market's hidden gems! One of the stops? KuKuRuZa Gourmet Popcorn. It's the only gourmet popcorn store in Seattle and one of seven stops you'll visit on Savor Seattle's "Off-the-Beaten-Path" tour.
"Come experience some of the places that have been under ur nose the whole time as a local and rediscover this wonderful city of Seattle! Think of it as a progressive meal on foot," Shen says.
Along the 2 hour tour is a stop at World Spice Merchants: home to the freshest tea and spices known to man including "Ghost Chili"... *if* you can handle it! Amanda Bevill is the store owner, and says, "It's a fairly new on the spice scene. It's a hybrid that was discovered within the past couple of years. It's recorded as the hottest chili in the world."
Quietly tucked away in Pike Place Market is Bavarian Meats. Behind the counter is Uta Adamczyk who will sell you German cold cuts with names I dare to pronounce. But besides the food, you learn so much about culture on this tour.
Let's go!
