For the past 4 years John Simpson has been embedded with Fort Lewis soldiers, first traveling to Iraq and then to Afghanistan.

We are proud here at Q13 FOX News to share with you a special series of reports on the soldiers of Fort Lewis . It's a project we call: "From The Front Line."

In June 2007, I met Pierce College Professor and Freelance Photographer John Simpson. Back then, I interviewed him on his extraordinary efforts to capture the stories of our men and women overseas.

He is sending us his amazing pictures -- along with the names of the soldiers he photographs and personal notes and observations. It is an inspiring, and at times intimate look, at the soldiers who are risking their lives to protect our country.
